Installing Apps2Sd

First let me say that these files were available courtesy of xda-developers.com and the individual responsible for each one is listed after the link. I take no credit for the great work these guys did and would hope if you like their work that you go over to their site and thank them or donate if possible..

Files Needed –   Evil Eris 3.0 Zip -  http://www.megaupload.com/?d=IH8YLL9V  = Framework43
                      Evil Eris Update Zip    http://www.megaupload.com/?d=G19VAY6G  = Framework43
                      App2sd Zip       http://www.megaupload.com/?d=R32NTDEY  = MarcusMaximus04, JF and MartinFick

Found an updated file and it makes the install easier...7/21/10

If you are going to install the rom and flash it for the first time, you need the main rom zip and the update zip as well.  (Phone should be connected to PC & in charge only mode)

(If you already have the rom installed, you can just flash the update (don’t reboot) & then partition the sd card)

1) Flash the main rom but don’t reboot, now flash the update (update only changes some boot info not the main rom)

When done flashing both, go back to recovery menu (if the sd card was ever partitioned before or is not brand new, you should wipe dalvik cache and wipe sd:ext partition just to clean it out)

2) Press partition sd card, when done, press SD: ext2 to ext3.

When done, go back to recover menu

3) Press usb-ms toggle & transfer the apps2sd zip to the phone sd card & flash zip file

When done, reboot.

Once its rebooted and everything is loaded and all info that you want to enter is done, we have a few easy steps left.

Keep phone connected to pc & in charge only mode. Open command prompt and get it set to be able to see the android sdk /tools folder - example: 'cd C:\android-sdk-windows\tools' ( if you installed it to the C: drive, replace drive letter as needed)

When done type one more line  a2sd cachesd

For those of you still experiencing issues with syncing facebook/google/etc.

Courtesy of erishasnobattery from xda-developers.com

Here's a list of things that will without a doubt break it if you remove them. There may be others, but I use them, so I'm not deleting them.

Friendstream
Google Talk - Only remove Talk.apk as the other two are apparently important.
Gmail - Only remove Gmail.apk. The other one seems important too.
Weather - You can delete everything but WeatherAgentService.apk and WeatherProvider.apk

I hope this helps any of you that want sense. The Evil Eris rom is very solid and has no bugs that I see...

ok, I'm very much a noob when it comes to this, so when you say flash, what does that mean?

Do I just follow these instructions: http://www.droid-eris.com/all-things-root/%28tutorial%29-how-to-flash-a-new-rom-to-your-droid-eris/msg10070/#msg10070

Its an update to the original rom that sets up a2sd to work properly. The update was over at xda and for me was the one thing that got a2sd working for me..

The update just changes some boot info and nothing else but the changes correct issues with running a2sd..

If you already have root and a rom on it then yes, you would go to that link and follow the procedure.  If you want to root you have to go to the topic how to root your eris..

Your google account info, email info, facebook, twitter and everything else. You can skip all this until your done but to me its easier to do it at the beginning..

Keep phone connected to pc & in charge only mode. Open command prompt and get it set to be able to see the android sdk /tools folder.

You should probably put the code: 'cd C:\android-sdk-windows\tools' here for people who don't know.

Unless i'm wrong
