Question: can you create more than one backup, or will it overwrite one already created?

You can create as many as your SD card will hold.

Can you rename your NANDS?

You can add to the name. Not sure if you can change the whole name but add info to the nand so I could identify, at the end I add ee or kaos.

I've been swapping ROM's like mad the past few days, so I frequently nand-backup them to have something to go back to in event of fire. You can rename the backup files to match what kind of ROM it was. Just a note, do not rename the nandroid folder. You can rename the individual backup files whatever you want.

Examples of naming the nand backups:
  • nandroid (do not rename this)
    • HT9ALHG14861 <== you can rename this
      • KaosFroyo
      • WhiteWidow
      • DroidDoes

Pretty sure that Nand Backup only works on rooted phones.  Undecided

isn't that simple for me... wants me to run some commands lol how unlucky I am :/
Maybe my phone just likes antagonizing me, immediately after posting this and trying once more to restore it works... ( i really only tried again to see the commands it asked for xD...only difference is i have it connected to pc atm -not mounted of course-)

I again tried when not connected to the cpu and it does not work, I've come to the conclusion that you DO need SDK tools and all that jazz installed when you try this, just have your phone connected to the computer with SDKtools and do the process as you would without it being connected and its works just fine... unless once again my eris is just exerting its individuality xD

OK.  I'm wanting to go back to Nonsensikal 9.5 from 15.2.  I created a Nandroid backup of 9.5 before flashing 15.2.
Do I now wipe, flash 9.5, and then Nandroid restore?
I know I can just wipe and flash 9.5, but if I don't have to re-set it up, that would be better.
