My phone keeps popping up a Sorry message saying "Android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." I don't even know what. Tried turning the phone off and on and it is still popping up. Suggestions???

Thanks.

There is a lot of info about this error on the Web but it looks like it depends what you were doing prior to getting the error. Apparently the installation or use of certain apps can cause it and in some cases a particular contact can cause it. It seems that reversing what you did to start the error fixes it (if you can identify it). It looks like resetting the phone also will clear it if all else fails but again, if it is caused by a particular app and you re-install that app after resetting it will happen again.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't think to search for the msg and found a few ideas via google. I think it happened either when I linked a number to an email and facebook contact. Shortly after I downloaded a Facebook for Android app that I can't uninstall no matter what I try.

I tried to remove google as a sync account but it won't let me. I removed FB from the sync accounts. And I edited a few contacts through my gmail acct via computer to see if that would solve the problem. to no avail it seems.

There is one contact that possibly has something in the notes but I get a force close everytime I try to pull up a search in People to get to the contact.

The only reason I keep trying new things is because I can't find the factory reset... supposed to be in About Phone... right?? I don't see it.

 Huh?

I have this problem multiple reboots, still does it. Can I delete something when I mount the phone to my computer?

Picking through the file system and altering individual files to resolve a problem (especially if rooted) is a good way to brick your phone. If you cant' identify the problem app you are better off to work from the Recovery Console and Wipe or even re-flash your ROM rather than tweaking the file system. Either way, if you decide to do so re-install apps carefully, one at a time, and test carefully so that you can identify the problem app.
