hey i rebooted my eris and when i went to turn it on the droid on the skate board poped up then the HTC logo poped up and then the verizon logo... then the HTC again and then thee verizon.... and its on loop between thee HTC and the verizon logos... iive tried taking the battery out twice and  dont know what to do. please help me... it isnt under warentee as far as i know and i bought it used on craigslist so idk what verizon can do... sugestions please?

If you don't know then you aren't. You can learn more in the Roots section of the forum. Anyway.

You might have to do a factory reset which will wipe your phone.

If you can't find a solution with out wiping. You have to hold Vol-up+end and it should wipe the phone.

the hard reset worked smashingly... thank you. i only lost half my contacts and all of my apps but i can live with that... i redownloaded them with in 15 mins so thank you   Smiley no how do i root my phone? it will still be on verizon right?

Look in the thread all things root and rom, there is a tutorial that provides a step by step process. 

Rooting has nothing to do with your verizon service, so yes you will still be on verizon.
