OMG...I'm having the same problem.  Are you getting a Force Close message that reads:  "The process com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectedly.  Please try again." each time you try to go into gmail?

Someone...please help us!!!!

Are you guys both on stock ROMs? I would try a reboot, otherwise I am clueless at this point. Try it without wifi on?

So, I've been googling this problem, and apparently, there have been a lot of people with android phones having the same issues.  I'm still not 100% fixed, but some of the suggestions have helped me receive messages in my inbox and sync manually without issues. Just not sure that auto-sync is truly working.

Here's what I've tried:

On my desktop pc, in my gmail account, I created a temp folder and moved a good portion of my old emails from my inbox to the temp folder.  (some people believe that the problem is with the google server...somehow, there may be a specific date that is causing the problem.)
Deleted all of the data under gmail, gmail storage, and contact storage by going into settings/applications/manage applications. (before deleting any data under contact storage...made sure that I've backed up all contacts first...just in case.)
Went into settings/accounts & sync and re-sync'd my gmail account.
Deleted my Facebook account and re-added it
Sync'd all accounts again and my contacts were all back to normal.

If I go into all messages in my gmail app, I still get the force close issue, but at least it's no longer doing it every time I go into my inbox.

Any other suggestions?
