I have tried unsuccessfully to update my Eris to 2.1 several times. I have done it OTA and manually. Everytime I run the update it comes up in "Safe Mode" and I have to revert back to 1.5. I have also tried rooting it with different flashes and still comes up in "Safe Mode." Yes, I have done all of the steps to get it to restart in normal mode but it won't until I restore back.

My trackball has the normal move to the left thing going on. I wonder if the 1.5 flash does not check the trackball for errors and the newer flashes do? Anyone have any ideas?
