Phone was working fine before I did a hard reset. While troubleshooting I did a factory data reset three times.  Did the *228, 1 many times.  Wifi is fine but no service for phone calls or texts.  Under settings, wireless and networks, mobile network says "turning on...." and never connects.  It is grayed out.

I called Verizon and was on the phone for 1 hour and went through two levels of tech support and they said they now have a ticket in and I may hear from someone in a few days?!  I took this to mean that they couldn't figure it out.

I see that this has been an issue before in these forums but no resolution.  The best advice I saw while researching, what makes the most sense, was this:

"Call VZW from another phone. They'll have you enter the same menu where you access slot cycles. There's a sequence of numbers that need to be on the phone in order for it to be recognized by VZ, and they are sometimes deleted during a factory reset. It's no big deal and you'll be up and running in no time."

Anyone have more info on that?  Or any other ideas?  Thanks!

You can try re doing a factory wipe. What software are you running on there cause you can try refusing the software or download the radios for your little guy.

software 2.41.605.6, firmware version 2.1.......is this what I should have?  When I do a system update it says I am updated.  What do you mean by "download the radios".

Yes, I was on another phone when I was on with tech support   Wink   I liked that post because it made sense that some numbers needed from Verizon were missing after the reset, especially since it was working fine before the reset.  I found out that my daughter reset it by holding down the vol dwn, power and call buttons when booting up.  This is not just the simple factory data reset so it must have messed something up.

Anyway, after resetting it several times and dialing the *228,1 when I was at work, it never found the network.....always said "turning on...."  It had a signal but was only two bars.  But all settings looked fine.

Last night at home, we tried hooking it up to my son's # instead and after resetting and doing the *228........it worked!  Full signal at home.  I'm wondering now if it was unable to finish it's setup/recovery and needed a stronger signal......even though at work it said the programming was successful....
