What what in the butt

WWW
« on: October 12, 2010, 06:17:36 PM »

Am I the only one who is getting completely fed up with Swype? I am on the beta and when I 'Swype' it likes to, well, not work. I Swype "work" and get "quirk", now that's understandable; however, when I tap the SwypeKey to show the dialogue box to switch, "work" isn't on there. Again, that's understandable; but when I delete it and re-Swype it I get "quirk" again, EVERY TIME until I "hop" to every letter. It does this on many words. It's quite infuriating, especially when it's made to make typing faster and it hinders me. I still prefer it over a typing keyboard because I tend to type faster than than keyboard can do it, i.e. I start typing so fast that it disregards the spell correction and I get gobble-dee-gook (technical term). Back on my beginning question: Am I the only one?

Thanks guys.

Funny you posted this, because just the other day I was cussing swype like you would not believe.  Yes and I am on swype beta and I hate it.  I have found from different trials I am beginning now to love shapewriter so much better.  Shapewriter predicts the words so much better and am able to actually complete a text without cursing like a sailor.

So funny, you read my mind Jpc.... Undecided

I'll give ShapeWritter a try, thanks. I want either a great swipe-bassed keyboard or a tap-based one that keeps up with me haha.

Haha, yea I got an app for just that: mind-reading

I was having the same problem. Go into your swype settings in the keyboards menu. Set the slider all the way to "error tolerance". It's slightly slower, but it works SO much better.
