Ok. I erased the update I had on my SD card (2.1 V3) and re-downloaded it and put it on my phone and now it is worse than ever. My email will not let me do anything but manual. If I set it to refresh it self on any time frame, it automaticallu reverts back to manual as soon as I leave that section of the "settings". My weather NEVER refreshes it self. If I go to weather I have to manually refresh or it reads "No Weather Data Available" and my apps may or may not work depending on whatever mood they seem to be in at the time. Most of the time it is a "force close". This Eris is quickly becoming the worst phone I have ever had and believe me I have had some carp! What is going on with my phone??? |

Are you using the original memory card?
Make sure you are saving your settings if option is available.
are you updating the radio on the phone by doing either *228 and select option 1 then redial and do option 2 or just dial *22899 and it will do all itself.

Yes I am using the original memory card and no I haven't done the *228...I thought that setup the phone for first use??? Will that help some of the problems? I will give it a try...couldn't make things much worse...Thanks for the advice.

Also, is it normal for my ATK or task manager (showing things need to be killed) to be in my top informational bar everytime I have to do a soft reset?

when you hit weather, then menu>settings> check update automatically>then check update frequency.....never have a problem with my weather updating.. |

Ok...the weather issue seems to be resolved for now (thanks jrocker and ripley) but I still can't get them email to update itself automoatically based on time settings. It still wants to go back to the manual setting as soon as I leave the settings menu...any suggestions? Emails are very important to me and I need the emails to refresh like the settings allow...

Sounds like you need to turn on some auto-sync settings under accounts and sync.

Your atk is just trying to help you. Lol. It's notifying you that you have apps that need to be killed when you turn your phone on. Hope that helped.
