NOthing here...still waiting...but I have lost any hope in getting it...

However...with all new release there are bugs so I am sure that there will be a FIX coming out and once the FIRMWARE VERSION changes, we will then get it...

I am not sure which post...I read so many each day now it is getting crazy in here!

There have been a lot of posts on the subject as well as a lot of opinions. However, in watching the traffic on the big 3 Eris forums I have yet to see a confirmed update from leaked 2.1 version 3 to 2.1 OTA.  The evidence seems to support the premise that if you are running version 3 you are already upgraded (early birds). There is very little traffic about the two earlier leaks either. I suspect the reason why is that most of the leakers upgraded to version 3.

I'll keep watch, however, you never know...

My g/f is running the 1st version leak and she hasnt received the update.

If she doesn't receive the update by the end of the month you might consider upgrading her to 2.1 version 3 at some point.

They are rolling it out until almost the end of May.  Do like Monty stated or call Verizon at the end of May and see why she has not received it.

if you look at this thread  post here if you have received the update started by JRocker,
there is a person  nesgodawg around reply #5 that talks about receiving the update while on version 3.  it gave hope but i find it odd that only one person has posted that they received it while on a leak.  numbers would have told me we'd have seen more people with a leak receiving it if it was gonna happen

Here is the latest I am hearing and from what its worth 2 verizon service reps backed this up. The leak phone are still planned for the upgrade. I originally heard part of this on droid-eris.com and asked a good friend who works at verizon to try and get some proof from the phone techs and here is what I've received.

Verizon is waiting for all current 1.5 phones to be done and the technical requests from these users to slow down a bit. They have a new OTA for the leaks that will change the HBOOT on our phone to a lower one then the update will install.

Now the issue according to my friend is they are trying to get it all in one package, if not they may have us manually update the OTA which means, we will be prompted to accept an update and this will change the hboot. Once thats done we may need to do  *#*#checkin#*#* which will have the phone look for the new OTA thats out now and then we are prompted to update with the OTA and done.

Please take it for what it is but I know this friend since I've been born and we grew up together, so I have some hope in it.

Cool, thanks Jrocker.
I suppose if it is the same a leak V3 then we should not be too concerned, but as stated by someone else in the forum " I just hate feeling left out"  Smiley

So in your opinion, should I flash v3 or hang back with v2 for a few more days/weeks?

Personally I am not looking forward to the OTA for leakers.  After seeing all the problems the OTA has brought up, I am very happy with v3.  Have had none of the OTA problems with v1, v2 or v3.  I redoracted phone back to my liking, downloaded my apps again and my phone was up and running, none of these weather, screen lock, contact , etc issues.
