I am trying to downgrade from 2.1 to 1.5 in order to get official update.  When I press Power and volume button and get to the recovery here is what happens.  It brings the three droids up on the screen and goes to a screen with a triangle and an explanation point in it with a droid under it. What does this mean?  I have tried everything to get out of and the only thing that works is removing my battery.  Does this mean I have leaked 2.1 or what.  I know you can not go back if you have leaked 2.1  How can I tell?

Here are my stats:

Firmware 2.1

Kernel Version
2.6.29-5cf233c2
htc-kernel@and18-2 #1

Build number
2.26.605.2 CL134869 release keys

Software number
2.26.605.2

Browser Version
Web Kit 3.1

PRI Version
2.11_002

PRL Version
51866

ERI Version
5

You cannot revert back. Once you upgrade that is it. No going back..

If you "think" you rooted, you probably didn't. It takes a few programs and some time to do it. If you just downloaded a zip file that gave you 2.1 then you just updated with the leak.

The exclamation point is there because it can't find a way to revert there is no other version.

If you search around, you will see that the 2.1 leak version 3 (v3) is the actual OTA update. We just got it before it was officially released, we got it while it was in its final testing phase. It was leaked by an actual HTC (maker of the phone) employee...

There is NO difference between the leak and the OTA

Your numbers seem ok, almost identical to mine but I think you are running 2.1 leak version 2. you can get the latest here: 2.1 version 3

http://www.droid-eris.com/htc-droid-eris-updates-and-cupcakes/2-1-leak-version-3/

It will erase all your info, so just a warning. you will have to setup everything again. There is also a pic of the latest numbers (same as the OTA)

You do not have root. When rooted your build # will say test keys instead of release keys.

Sikyou is correct you have a leaked version not root and cannot go back to 1.5.  By the looks of your phone info, you have v1 or v2 (did not keep track of the software info), but you do not have v3.  Jrocker is correct, V3 is the same as the OTA verizon is sending out.

Just to add my 2 cents worth - If you are willing to go back to 1.5 (and for all intents reset your phone) you are probably better off and certainly time and frustration ahead to just install 2.1 V3 from the link JRocker gave you (also resets you phone). From all that can be gathered so far it's pretty apparent that the OTA and 2.1 V3 are one and the same. You can go through the process in one step instead of two. Just make sure to backup your apps, etc. so you can save yourself some setup time.

OK maybe 3 cents...

From all that can be gathered so far it's pretty apparent that the OTA and 1.2 V3 are one and the same. You can go through the process in one step instead of two. Monty is having a numbers issue today!  LOL.  1.2v3 = 2.1v3   Embarrassed
