I am the guy that asked you about my dead Eris a few weeks ago. So, my current android image is corrupt and I need to reload it to whatever version possible and then go from there.

Thanks in advance, Henrik

What is your software 1.5, 1.6, 2.1 if you know that it would help.

My phone was used and kept up to date with all OTA updates until about 3 weeks ago. I am almost embarrassed to say that I am not sure which version it was. It was purchased almost excactly 2 years ago if that makes a difference.

Now, I have bought a new phone but want to use the old one at home on wifi (possibly give to my kids). I have nothing to loose since it is not working now. The phone died due to running out of battery during a call. When I got to my charger it wouldn't boot anymore.

Thanks in advance, Henrik

I tried reloading OTA but got the error described a few posts ago. If you could guide me to the best and easiest way to root and reload software from my phones current situation I would appreciate it.

Thanks, Henrik

So I finally had a few minutes to try rooting following the instructions in thread linked above. I quickly run in to the issue of not being able to put the phone in USB debug mode since I can't start it up. Basically I am limited to what can be done through the boot and recovery menues. I feel like if I can just find the correct image to load I should be able to get the phone back as long as the bootloader is intact. Once the phone is up and running again I will definitely root but it seems I need to get the phone going first.

Thanks in advance, Henrik

I took a different approach and loaded tried to load a 2.1 image found in a thread in the troubleshootings section (Re: Bricked Eris---NO WARRANTY) and it worked! Did a quick search on how to get passed the activation portion and I think I am good to go, thanks guys!
