I currently have version 2.1 leak version but have heard there is a v3 and don't know if I have that. All mine says is 2.1 so do I have it or not. How can I tell?? Also how can I get the official version with what I have. Please be specific as I do not understand all this lingo.
Also, my phone has a notification that keeps coming on saying I am low on phone memory. How can I get all my apps I put on my phone to use the memory card instead on the phone space. My phone is lagging big time. Thanks for all the help.

Thanks, I will take a look at that.
So how do other people download hundreds of apps and have them on their phone with no issues??

They most likely keep them all on there memory card and install or unistall when needed or not needed.

The other option is to ROOT your phone. This would allow you to run apps right from the memory card. This takes some work and time and be a little techy. There are threads here for rooting the Eris. Just search root and you should find some info.

Also the link I gave you has links to root as well

JRocker has you covered on the 1st question. As to the other questions -

If you have a leaked version of 2.1 it is the general agreement that you will not get the official version. The closest you can get is to install 2.1 Version 3.

You can't get the phone to run apps on the memory card but you can manage your memory-
1) If you are carrying around a lot of e-mails or text messages in you phone it is time to clean them out - they use memory.
2) You can clear your caches -To do this go to Menu>Settings>Applications>Manage Applications. Let it populate the Applications (might take some time). Now click on each application and look for the Clear Cache button. You are really interesting in the apps that have big caches but every little bit helps. This will take some time - when you are done restart the phone.

That should be better. If it is still laggy take a look at how many apps you are running - back to Menu>Settings>Applications>Running Services. Lots there? Might be time to take a good hard look at how many apps you really need.  Wink
