I'm just finding that I have a lot of times when I have to reboot, when I NEVER did under 1.5. Lots of force closes when using specific apps, and other issues.

Plus my battery life seems to be a lot worse. I used to get to 11 p.m. with about 40% left. Now, I'm lucky if I get to 8 p.m. with 20% left.

Yesterday, I couldn't make calls for about 30 minutes, until I did my second reboot of the day.

From other issues like this that I have read or dealt with it usually boils down to 1 of 2 things.

1) Memory card may have been changed from original and is not 100% compatible with the phone so when you upgraded the u[grade doesnt settle right on the card. Using the original card and reinstalling 2.1 usually corects it.

2) The install just might not have gone 100% perfect. So doing a factory reset or a whole new install MAY correct it as well.

Some Things To Remember:

Remember to back up all info and apps needed either by putting them on the computer or a backup program like Astro File Manager on the phone.

DO NOT change the file name or file in any way.

Make sure the leak file is put on the root of the memory card of the phone BUT NOT in any folders of the card. (Just drag & drop onto the card NOT into a folder on the card)

After update is done you should dial *228 and use option 1 & 2 to update radio settings or you can do *22899 and it will update radio settings automatically.

Hope this helps..

Hate to hear about the problems.  Running smoothly here.

After updating one thing that drained my battery was the new battery widget that comes with 2.1.  It would literally drain my battery before my eyes.  Uninstalled and battery was good again.

Also 2.1 now comes with running services, giving you  the ability to check and see what is currently running in the background that may be hung up, causing poor performance.

Clearing cache and data on a regular basis will also help.

If your using a task killer, you may be killing some apps that should not be shut down, causing all sorts of problems.  I uninstalled this app after the first leak and my phone has been happier ever since.

Everything had been great here. Ripley informed me of the battery widget and that has helped a lot. One thing I have been doing, after I boot up in the morning, I immediately go to Airplane mode, charge it for about 30 seconds, I do this twice. I have noticed this helps keep "cell standby" at about 30%. I use the Seidio 1750 extended battery. I ran all day Saturday, off at night, and half a day Sunday. If the "cell standby" gets up to around 60%, it seems to drain battery faster. I hope they fix this in the OTA Official Update!

I have no idea how to do either "a factory reset or a whole new install." I wouldn't mind, because some of the issues--especially phone dialing and connection issues--have become quite annoying.

Can you point me to instructions for either? I'm running leak, not root. I think. Not really sure what either means.

I use the Bluetooth headset Motorola H700 and before the update the volume on the headset was nice and loud. Since the update, the caller claims the volume is very low and has a hard time hearing me...

Headset is fully charged....volume is up as far as it will go and still the same issue...Anyone else having this with bluetooth and if not....what headset are you using?

How did you delete the Battery APP?
Your talking about the battery app that comes with the system?

It will only drain if you have the battery app as a widget on one of your screens..

And today, the first time ever, my battery drained completely within 6 hours! no use whatsoever, i checked cell standby befor removing the battery and resting the device, and it was 65!

very worried, i cannot have that happen again  Embarrassed

Not sure what all you have on your phone.  Using the new battery widget?

If I were you and having these problems, I would reflash my phone with the 2.1 zip file and see if you can correct the issues.

Or your other option is to wait and see if the 2.1 OTA does start rolling out on 5-11-10.

According to the published ROM info from VZW the OTA is the same as leak 3 so I think it is safe to say that it is the same ROM (with a few extras), therefore the 50% no signal issue may persist. As I have said before, I have done extensive testing of the cell signal bug with a few conclusions. 1) I am never without a signal so the 50% is an erroneous number. 2) Battery life (for me) is virtually unchanged regardless of what number displays under "time without a signal".

I believe that many of the issues 2.1 are related to applications, widgets, or "habits" that people adopted while running 1.5. For example, with 2.1 I feel it is an absolute must to have background data and auto-sync turned on, things just don't work otherwise and battery life is unaffected (I still get greater than 36 hours on a charge).

Only time will tell if the OTA is any better than v3, other than the extra features I don't expect much.

Ok you talk about how bad your battery life is and I have stated before this widget is a big battery drain.  So not understanding how you say its without the issue.  Dude, you need to delete it and regain your battery back.  I am giving you some much needed advice, so pls dont complain about battery life.
