I've looked through these forums and I've seen people post links to the old root, but what about the 2.1 OTA? Has it been rooted yet?

I am still running the old 2.1 root, the first one that was released, and haven't received any notification about the OTA update. I am not concerned with switching, just because I want to keep root.

Also, for some reason, Google Maps will not update. It is always "signed incorrectly". And when I try to get directions, when inputting the location I want directions to, it force closes. Any idea why?

From what I have read, there is no new root for the official OTA that im aware of at this time. I can help you with the maps issue & navigation issue.

Go to http://forum.xda-developers.com and check for updated 2.1 roms. The original roms had some with map & nav issues, the newer roms have working map & nav apps..

Sorry the tutorial does say that it is for leakers but it works for everyone.

This root method works for the OTA I helped a user on here root their OTA. And it works fine.
