Reptiles00 - Out of curiosity, when did you download your 2.1 OWA?

Think it was Sunday morning.   I have to say, after the reset tonight, no lag, alls working well, and I've been adding and trying out all the apps over and over and barely any battery loss.     Guessing that all it needed so far.

JPC,  I never used an app killer.  Would it allow me to select what is killed so I still have email notifications and say... weather updates?  Someone at the verizon store tonight mentions another task killer app  but forget the name.

Task killer is a controversal subject but I truly believe you don't need it. Many people can attest to it. Just go to menu/settings/applications/running services and kill it there, basically the same thing.

Riley:  I checked the running services and notice the GTalk service is running.  Not sure if i need that but I found it restarts is I shut off and restart phone.
Only Y5, and OBexservice, alarm, and Touch Input are running now.

Don

Yep sounds like running services is correct.  Only question is do you have your alarm set for say mon thru fri?

Yes it would. As JProcker said:

But there's no harm in trying a task killer, you can remove it if you don't like it.

The reason I asked this question is that for the first couple of weeks after I installed the V3 Leak I was alarmed at the battery usage. But after I got everything set up the way I wanted it (62 apps - must be some kinda lunatic  Shocked) and started using it normally I noticed that the battery life was pretty good. I still get some weirdness once in a while but for the most part its good for about hours worth of operating time now. What I'm getting at is that "adding and trying out all the apps over and over" can use a lot of battery up without you realizing it.  Wink

Yep sounds like running services is correct.  Only question is do you have your alarm set for say mon thru fri?

Yeah that got to go to work thing :-(

Phone had a good day today.
After the issues I had with loss of phone memory, and quick loss of battery, and observing the Cell Standby, I have come to the conclusion that the Cell Standby is only indicating the actual part of the battery that dissipated due to being in standby mode over the entire time the phone has been on from startup (not awake).   So a mute figure to me.

I got my battery life back by doing the hard reset after the 2.1 update and today I'm at 20 hours up time and 4 hours awake with 40 percent battery left.  Not Bad.
Especially with all the same apps plus some more and from 40 some meg of phone memory to 100 meg.  That hard reset did it for me.

Don, thanks for posting your results.  Since I do not have my alarm on each day, that is why I was asking.  Glad to hear things have improved.  Great analysis.
