Just as all of us Eris user thought it was safe...
Froyo, or Android 2.2 details keep spilling out and it's a wonder to me how long (if ever) it would take us low-end Eris (and Hero) users to receive such an update, or, if HTC is even proactively working on a Sense update for 2.2 as it comes along. One can only hope that Google will make good on its word to eventually heal the fragmentation ailment, but I think that the individual flavor makers (HTC, Motorola) of Android will have to play a big role in this as well. Nonetheless, Froyo features are beginning to look very enticing, such as WiFi hotspot and native USB tethering details just released today:

Only time will tell, and we Eris users are patient, but at what cost?
