I know this is an Eris site but realistically all of us are near the end of our contracts and are going to upgrade to something newer and better. I also know asking about which new phone to get has been brought up in numerous threads already but I'm gonna do it one more time.My wife's line is upgradeable and the Verizon rep said we can upgrade all our lines at the same time if we want to. My wife has decided to get an Iphone Sad but this should suite her fine. I am 99.9% sure I'm gonna get a Tbolt. My daughter who is in college and we still have on our family plan wants us  to hold out till the Bionic comes out. Does anyone know of a release date for the Bionic? I was debating myself about getting the Bionic because of the stories about horrible battery life for the TB but I'm sure rooting and deleting bloatware should solve that problem and I'm sure Motorola will make it alot harder to root and change Roms on the Bionic compared to the TB.I would appreciate anybody's 2 cents worth. Thanks Ned

Ned the Bionic is carp it a moto phone and this maybe just be me but moto has not produced a phone ever that was good. It pains me to say this but if it came to a moto phone or an Iphone I would go Iphone. But HTC has done wrong by me and I would say the ThunderBolt, rumor is there are going to be a few update to fix the battery. also I know that some have started rooting things fdor the TB. My 2 pennies on it

With frrrr on this. Personally think moto phones are carp and would never get one. I am waiting for the line of new phones coming out. Heard a couple may be in April and something in may. But April is half over now.

Ok thanks for the input. Now I'm 110%sure Ill get a Tbolt. My daughter also talked about the Samsung that was coming out. I have never liked LG phones so the revolution is not in consideration.Should she consider that? We have never owned a samsung phone. Im assuming now the Tbolt is the best of the new LTE phones.

The TBolt is the only LTE phone so far. I would never suggest a Samsung. I personally hate Samsung. I hear good things about the Galaxy phones but I can never see why. To me the handsets are cheap looking and the UI is just hideous.

I have never enjoyed MOTO phones but the DX is a solid phone. The DX2 is due out soon(er or later). I despise Blur.

My $.02 is either go with the TBolt or wait for a new HTC LTE lineup. It's is by far the best handset producer.

Thanks for all the input. My daughter has decided to go with the TB like i am doing.Since we have the oportunity to upgrade all our lines right now I dont think its wise to wait for future offerings from HTC I want to make sure I stay locked in on my calling plan. We have that promotion they offered last November they discount each line $20 a month and I cant afford to loose that. JPC you helped me root my Eris and I'm hoping you might give me a hand again with the TBOLT. Thanks again Ned

We are there for you... I also agree, no moto is good moto and samsung phones arent the greatest and dont get much support with updates from samsung...

So I call Verizon to order my phones and now the gal on the other end says I can only upgrade the one line.I asked her about what the other rep told me and she looked it up and found YES he did say I could upgrade my lines but they wont honor what he promised. I think Verizon can go blow something. Guess Ill buy an Incredible off E-bay and wait out my contract.

Ned. U may be able to upgrade directly at verizon store. Also check verizon website they usually have early upgrade as well. Log into your account and check your phones and see if available...

I finally decided to go ahead and get the THUNDERBOLT Grin with my wife's upgrade. Since she wants an Ipuke it is best if she waited till this fall when my upgrade is available by then Ipuke5 will be out  and then she can at least have the newest version. Well my daughter will just have to settle with her Moto Droid till her contract is up for renewal.I signed up at the TBOLT site but will still keep checking in here cause your a good bunch of people

Well congrats, welcome to the dark side (because the battery doesnt last long enough to give us light)... Just kidding Ned, with a good kernal and the stock rom, battery runs well. We will be more than happy to help you at the other site... I jump between both sites frequently as well..
