I just read this http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2371120,00.asp and they are calling it Honeycomb instead of Gingerbread.

Have you heard anything of this before?

Gingerbread is supposed to come out this year for some of the new handsets.  Honeycomb is supposed to be slated for release next year.  Supposedly also, google is only going to do a yearly os update from now on.

Gingerbread should hit some android tablets for the holiday season. I've read that the gingerbread SDK is expected in a few weeks, usually followed closely by the source code and the hackers Wink

Not all of Google’s partners are as circumspect, however. ARM President Tudor Brown tells me the name will be Ice Cream."

"... Ice Cream appears to be the correct name, however. As president of ARM, Brown is familiar with the Android roadmap."

"Ice Cream likely won’t be introduced until mid-2011. Gingerbread is expected to be released before the end of the year and Honeycomb in early 2011."
