Hey everyone, I am really glad I found this forum and that its still very active! I am fairly new to the rooting scene. My first root was a Moto Droid 1 and I loved the improvements so much I am now working on my girlfriends HTC Eris. She is frustrated with the stock limitations of the device so I've done the one click root and tried kaosgingerbread-v8 which gave me so many issues I had to flash it back and now I have her on Vanilla Tazz v29 which seems to be doing okish (force closing apps alot Undecided ). I was hoping I could get some suggestions on the most rock solid rom available. I am wondering if some of the froyo based roms might be a better choice?

Welcome.  If you want a stable rom, skip froyo based and try gingerbread.  Put either gingerbread or workshed in the search button and you will find 20 something pages of comments about it.  Currently it is on version 2.5.  Link to it will be on first page of first post.

Thanks guys I flashed GSB v2.5 and it is slick! I was going to try set cpu for added speed but I'm not sure it will need it!

hello everyone, im new to the root scene as well, did it so i could screen shot. i c there is a lot more i can do with it.  im on a 1st gen htc eris, can anyone tell me what all i can can do with my freshly rooted phone.

You can do almost anything! Look at the rooting and rimming sections for more detail
