Greetings earthlings! Friendly neighborhood geek here. I've been known to fix computers for anything from cookies to Root Beer. I hope to fix computers (and maybe phones) for real money someday.
Bought an Eris almost on accident. I just got a job as a Delivery Driver at Pizza Hut, and they required a phone. I hadn't owned a mobile phone since I had delivered pizza for Dominoes 6 years earlier, (I was sporting PDA's till they went the way of the dodo.) so I had to get a phone THAT DAY. I wanted to get a smartphone with PDA-like features, but wasn't into texting. So Verizon had the Droid and the Droid Eris. I didn't like the keyboard on the Droid, and the Eris looked and worked more like the PDA's I had used in the past. In hindsight, I probably should have waited a month until the Droid Incredible or two months when the Droid X came out, but I'm stuck with it for two years.
I hope to get my phone rooted and put Froyo 2.2 on my Eris, as it really could use the speed increases that comes in 2.2. I'd also like to toy around with the mobile wi-fi spot feature, and not have to pay the absurd $30+ a month for the feature. I'm also having an issue with the trackball (sadly its the achilles heel of the device) getting dust or something in it and starts acting funny.
I look forward to many constructive posts.
