Hello,
Just installed version 2.1. How do I take phone offline, before there was an icon. Going offline saves battery life, thanks.

I'm not sure if I understand what you mean by offline. However, if you mean turning off the Mobile Network it is under Menu>Settings>Wireless & Networks. Uncheck Mobile Network. You can place a shortcut on the home screen - it's an HTC widget under Settings.

Not sure what you mean by offline, I am guessing 3g or wi fi?  Hit + >tap htc widget>settings and this will give you shortcut widgets to place on your home screen to turn on/off these functions.

When turning off wi-fi and mobile, does this mean I will not be able to receive text messages and email until I turn them back on? Or do I need to use the search function more Embarrassed Embarrassed?

If you turn off wifi and mobile 3g you cannot receive emails, but you can still receive texts and make calls.

Thanks Ripley, I eventually just turned off wifi and turned mobile back on. After the update from verizon I noticed battery life was less, but i believe this was because I had wifi on all the time and told it to notify me when wifi was available. Now battery life is at an acceptable level.
