Transfer of phone contacts via SD card

Your contacts should be backed up through Google. They should reappear once you add your Google account in the set up. If you backed them up to your SD, then on your new phone, open up the contacts/people app and (I'm guessing on the exact steps as I've not used my Eris for a while, but I should generally be) hit menu, import/export find your file.
