For some reason, my phone does not vibrate anymore when it is on silent mode with vibration. I've went into my text message settings to make sure "vibrate when messages are received" box was checked, it is. It's not the vibration itself that's messed up, the phone vibrates when I get an incoming call. Does anyone have any suggestions that I could try in order to get the vibration back for my text messaging? Thanks.

Try switching to "handcent sms". Then recheck the vibrate in text message in that app's settings. If that doesn't work than what OS are you running? That could be a factor.

Superjew...I have installed handcent, yes the vibration works. So I know that it's not my phone that's broken. Problem is, I've used handcent back when I first got my phone and didn't like it much, so I prefer using the native messaging app. My phone's OS is the original one that came on the phone, with the latest update installed.

Frrrrrrunkis...No, my phone is not rooted. Everything on the phone is the way that I received it from Verizon when I first got the phone.

The native application has two settings that combine to allow the vibration.
You have to check NOTIFICATIONS and also into NOTIFICATION SETTINGS ensure that VIBRATE is active. If the vibrate is active but notifications is not, it won't work.

Adam, when you say "check notifications," where exactly can I find that? The VIBRATE is active in the notification settings, but not sure what you mean by just "notifications." There is nothing that I see that jusy plainly says "notifications" in the native app settings. Am I lookiing in the wrong place?

In the native app, MENU and SETTINGS.

Scroll down to NOTIFICATIONS and ensure the checkmark is set. The help says it is only for showing notifications in the status bar, but from experience I know it affects the sound and vibration also.
