Author Topic: Possible work around for missing 2.1 market apps (DIDN"T WORK) :(  (Read 1164 times)

Try using an app called appbrain market sync. With this you can find apps at appbrain.com and then sync them to your device. I am not missing any apps so my testing has been limited. I searched the market from my phone for a missing app that mainegirl posted, grooveshark, and it was not available via device dl. I searched appbrain and it is there but it will not dl because the app says it is only compatible with 1.5, 1.6, and 2.0.

If you are missing an app please test this. Install appbrain market sync to your device from the market and then set everything up and go to appbrain.com to find your missing app and see if it will sync.

Same results. It found some apps I had like TV.com but when i went to install, the android market didnt have it. Said it couldn't be found...

I'm not sure where to post this so I'll try starting here. SikYou, you indicate in another post that you can re-install your apps after flashing your phone with a new (leaked) OS using AppBrain.

Can you provide any details on how to do this? When I flashed my phone with 2.1 V2 and installed Appbrain after syncing it it said I had no apps installed (correct!).

What I ended up doing is seaching through Appbrain with the list of apps printed out from my Astro backup folder (safely stowed on my PC), clicking install on each one that I could find, and then "bulk installing" them using the Appbrain sync. Am I missing something? Is there a better way?

P.S. Had an on-line discussion with one of the Market Developers a few days ago. Apparently there is a way (security system?) for the developers to dictate within Google's marketplace which OS's can load their apps. This is why you can't find some of the apps for the leaked OSs even thought they are are listed (for instance) in Appbrain.
