Hi, last night I was trying to log into my youtube account. I had forgotten what my sign in ID was and accidently created a new sign in ID which needs to be deleted.  I used my ID name instead of my email address so it created an new ID and added "@youtube.com" to it.  I keep getting the "sign-in error" notification in the upper left hand corner of my phone.  So far I've cleared the cashe and cleared the data, deleted the notification 6 times.  Logged out of the bad one and logged onto the good ID, cleared everything again.  Rebooted, battery pulll, everything.  I even tried to create a new account with the wrong ID but it says it's a incorrect email address and won't accept it.  So does anyone know how to get rid of this notification?

Wish I could help.  The only thing I know about the youtube app is when it opens hit menu and it gives you some options.  Have only watched videos, never created any sort of sign in account.

It doesn't request it but when you sign in, your favorites appear so I signed in with my ID and not my email (gmail) address so it took my ID and added @youtube.com which isn't a legitimate email address, though it created it.  So now I keep getting this "sign in" error message in my notification bar.  I can't get rid of it.  I don't know what else to try.

I tried an experiment that might give us a clue. On the computer, I went to Youtube and tried to create an account. It told me I had to log out of my G-mail account before I could continue. Seems like somehow they are linked (makes sense they are both the same company). Looks like Youtube has a forum at http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/youtube/label?lid=20fc10ac8612cc7c&hl=en.
I suggest you post your question on that forum and see if they can help.

If they do please post back the solution here. It may help someone else in the same fix.

I went to menu/settings/applications/youtube and cleared data. Then went back into youtube through my phone and hit menu/my account and it gave me the option to login to youtube through my gmail account or make new account.

I hit new account and entered my youtube account and all went well.

If you enter the account you want to use and it comes up invalid, try logging in through the internet first and stay logged in then try logging in through your phone.

Hope this helps

I just posted my question on that youtube site.  Thank you.  It does let me log into my correct youtube account but still recognizes the bad one and that's why I continue to get this error message.  I need to delete that 1 account from my phone and I can't figure out how to do it.

Ok to delete the account giving you the issues, go to menu/settings/accounts & sync and delete the google account that shows the wrong login.

just press on the google account with wrong login and then you will see the accounrt with an option to remove it at the bottom

Awesome!  Thank you.  You obviously know more than the people on the youtube site because I posted this morning and no one has answered yet.  Thank you so much!
