Well hey! As soon as they change the contracts, we are ALL allowed to call up and chew them out, and leave verizon with NO Penalty! Smiley So, that's an option for a lot of people! Smiley

Well when my 2 yr update comes around I will be checking around to see what other carriers are offering.  After having an iphone in the house on att I am realizing that Verizons so called superior coverage is not what all its cracked up to be, at least from my comparisons between the two.

While we are on our contracts, they cannot change them.  That's a violation of the law.
However, soon as those two years are up, they can up your price, or make you change, or what have you.
Unless they have an option to keep 3g (will they?) it doesn't make sense to charge more for it.  People will be upset.  Heck, they already charge nearly as much as comcast does for their internet, and despite being mobile, it's MUCH slower and limited to a single phone.  Messing with people's data prices are going to anger them.  Verizon is already pushing it.

I can't say I can recommend Sprint either. Their Service was marginal, had trouble connecting both at home and at work even though they said I was in "premium" coverage areas, and the stores were horrible the only way I would buy a new phone from them was if I could get it on line - refused to set foot in a store after the first experience. I finally got fed up and paid the early term to move to Verizon.

ATT has already announced new Tier pricing....
http://phandroid.com/2010/06/02/att-announces-new-data-plans-unlimited-disappears/

You know it is a shame if they all do this. I dont really know that I use a HUGE amount of bandwidth on any given month, but its is nice to know I dont have to worry about it....this  kind of pisses me off!

Yep read the article today about att.  I have a feeling Verizon will follow suit.  Not sure how I am going to feel about this when my renewal comes up.

Sheesh... is it just me, or are we getting ripped off for our cell plans?
For comcast, I can get $25/mo internet, unlimited computers, unlimited data.  The most I've ever downloaded something was a couple files totaling around 1.5 mb/s.
The ONLY thing Verizon gives me that Comcast doesn't is portability, but minus the fast speed and minus the multiple devices.  How is portability worth what they're asking us to give up?
