Hello everyone,
I have been going through the site and all the various topics and first I would like to say thank you to all the members that help out and guide the newer members as well as our older members to happiness with their phones.
I have noticed a couple of things that I think if we adjusted a little, would make using the site and finding info a little easier.
1) Please use the search feature before posting questions. I see alot of questions being asked where we have very good tutorials or bits of info that could solve a persons issues or get them on the right track. Alot of us have put alot of time and effort into posting help and just searching a little will get you an answer most of the time. Tips to better searching are:
Type words that are directed at the core issue like rebooting, sms, messaging, battery and so on, you can put quotes around it too, this will help narrow the search. Try to avoid sentence like structures when searching.
2) When posting in a topic, please keep questions, comments related to the actual topic of the post. When extra comments are made that dont really reflect the topic or issues / help with the topic, it just clutters up the topic and adds alot of extra items to go through when trying to find info in the topic.
3) I know rooting is great and it does so much more for the phone (I Love It), but I think we really should not push new people that come to the site into rooting or promote it to them unless they inquire about it. I know it is simple to do now and takes very little time but there are still people unsure or afraid to do it.
If someone asks about it or wants help doing it then please do what you can for them but if some one joins the site or comes by with a basic question on how to fix something, we should not throw the root idea at them unless they ask are there any better solutions and if root is it then we could mention it. Not everyone is a techie, they just want their phone and a quick fix.
