Yes!! I had an Iphone and canned it for the Eris. Granted,it was with carp AT&T and their terrible service but I still like the Eris better. The Eris is a little slower (sorry but true) but it is smaller and easier to use, the speaker is a million times better, and the call sound quality is much better. There are a ton more easons but you all get the picture.

I'd stick with the Eris all the way! I bought it in the 1st place knowing it would be upgraded to 2.1 and I figure that the upgrade will only improve what I've found to be an outstanding device!

Depends on the cost.

I have long had an iPod Touch. It really works great. But I'm on Verizon, (and need it). I got the Eris for free, (got the offer just as my old phone broke).

I like the Eris a lot, but from using the Touch, and playing with other people's iPhones, well they just work better. (I wish either phones were the Touch's size).

With the Eris I don't miss the iPhone that much, and I would likely not spend a lot of money for the iPhone, and nothing against anyone here Smiley, but I can see switching.

If my wife were to want a smart phone, I definitely steer her to the iPhone. The Eris, and Android, is a lot more fildlier.  I don't mind so much, (few of my computers ever have the case screws in them, and I'm always beta testing), but things like battery life, and the wild west of the Andriod store and many android apps would not work for her.

I had an iTouch for a couple years.  I eventually got the eris because I was tired of carrying around multiple devices (iTouch for calendar, dumb phone for calling).  Which the iphone/itouch is definitely smoother across the board, it doesn't allow any customization, and locks down so many things that make my phone awesome.  The iphone is a smart phone, yes.  The eris/android is a computer that makes phone calls.  =D

I had an iPhone for 8 months and did like it. I was forced to switch (break the contract) because of AT&T's lousy service in my area.  I will say the interface and the layout of the iPhone is better, but as mentioned above, its a closed system and you can't do much other then what they give you.
The Eris does have more features then my iPhone, being able to tether, and hooking it up as a removable drive to copy my pictures to/from the device.  I like that you have more control over the phone and how to do things. Would I go back to an iPhone? Doubt it.

I have an Android phone because I don't want an iPhone. The Eris works great. For me a widget based home screen is better and more convenient.

I would keep my Eris even if someone gave Undecided me an iPhone !  I love the feel of the phone,  & even with all of the new Droids coming out, I still want my classy Eris.

I have had the Eris for about 5months now and it is by far the best phone I ever had  Smiley
The iPhone ain't shat compared to this phone
By no means would I ever want a different phone
If I could rank this phone between 1-5stars I would give it 5+ stars

Even if my Eris wasn't rooted, I would STILL keep it over the iPhone. I really dislike everything about the iPhone, from only having one back button to the expensive apps. My friend had an iPhone, and she cracked her screen. I talked her into getting an Android phone (she was with AT&T, and was locked in a contract). She got the Samsung Galaxy, and she loves it so much more than her iPhone!
