Ok so after having my eris for about six months it finally gave me a problem at the worst possible time and was pretty much a deal breaker for me.  While coming home from work about 20 miles from home in the middle of the backroads of america, (in the middle of a HUGE rainstorm) my car decided it wanted to bust it's CV Joint.  No big deal as I have my phone and can just call my wife for a ride home, well that's when it decided it didn't want to do ANYTHING! no texting, talking, or anything, So i tried to reboot and got stuck in a boot cycle and wow i don't think i have ever been that mad at a phone,  So after contemplating what to do and screaming at my phone to work, I ended up walking a few miles in the monsoon weather to call for a ride.  Needless to say this was the last straw for me and this phone and after calling VZW and telling them my story they offered to ship me a refurb which i politely declined and asked for a different phone. They asked if I wanted to switch to a Moto Droid that was taken back in the initial three days of someone  buying it (forgot what she called it) and I told her that I would try that out.  So I'm now waiting for my Moto Droid and it should be here monday.  So I will be over on that forum.  The eris was a good phone for what i needed it for, but when it stopped functioning as a phone, it was just too much for me...

Glad to have been a part of this forum and wish everyone here good luck with their Eris.  Kiss Wink

Dude that is carp! I think I would opt for a new phone in that situation as well, not sure I would want the droid but a new phone is always fun.

Thanks everyone, I will still frequent this forum as much as possible to maybe throw my experience in here and there,  I was kind of iffy going to the M Droid but i've read tons of posts saying that it was a good choice.  Guess I will just have to experience it for myself.  If all else fails I will be up for NE2 pretty soon. I thought about trying to push for the Incredible but didn't really think that they would swing that, and I didn't really want to argue with them too much.lol

I appreciate all of you who have helped me in my endeavors with the eris.  I'm sure much of what I have learned here will fair well with going to the M Droid with maybe some few differences.

Thought about maybe coming and doing a review based on my experience on both phones in case anyone else thinks about making the same switch.  Everyone here is great and i'm glad to have been part of this community.
