Ok well I have been using that since the day I got the phone. Things I have found on here are that the most common thing is that people don't like or use them. Is anything else used or are the programs just allowed to run with no adverse effects? Sent from my FroyoEris using Tapatalk

The only adverse effect you'll get from not using a task killer is faster app response and better overall performance Sent from my Nonsensikal Froyo Eris

Since you (I believe) have rooted your phone you might try using Autokiller. It appears more in keeping with Linux' resource management philosophy. I've been using it pretty successfully in 'strict' mode since I started running Froyo. (Sorry Ripley but I think this is different )

(Sorry Ripley but I think this different ) I use to advocate for autokiller but I changed my mind performance is better without it IMO Sent from my Nonsensikal Froyo Eris

Yes I am rooted. Kaosfroyo v29 also. I uninstalled the task killer and so far I think the phone runs faster.

Alright so no talking necessary! After four days of KaosFroyo 2.9 and abysmal bench tests (<3 mflops) I ditched the Autokiller and went "taskkiller naked" . Mflops doubled (5.19 or better) and KF 2.9 seems a nice place to land! Fast enough and I got my camera back, ADW launcher has it's moments but overall - lookin' good!!

Once I settle on a ROM ( ) then I'll try both with and without the autokiller. So far nice and snappy at 5+ Mflops running at 710min/787max. Never get above 32 C. Never above 32?? I put my MHz down to 710 Max and I still hit mid to upper 100-110 degrees. How are you keeping it so cool? Sent from my Nonsensikal Froyo using Tapatalk
