What would be the best app to use to make quick phone calls without going thru the phone/person system? Anything better than "fast call"? Thanks

You can long press on the desk top and go to
Shortcut> person then add them to the desktop as either a text or phone. With this you just tap the person and it will call/text them.

Is that kinda what you were looking for?

If you set up the people you call the most (up to 9 entries) as "starred" contacts using your g-mail account then there is a way to place them in a frame on one of you desk tops (I'll be durned if I can remember how I did that step but someone here will know). From there you can customize each if the entries so that (assuming you have photos for all of your contacts like I do Grin) you go to the frame, click on the photo and it dials (or texts depending on the settings) that contact. Kind of a picture speed dialer.

As I remember ..dimly.. the frame was on one of the original screens right out of the box.

I just tried the suggestion from Jpc above and it works great!  Thanks!  A cookie for you.
And if you use the app called 'More Icon" or something like that, you can get a whole butt-load of your contacts on one home screen.
I don't use that app, but I just thought of that if someone here has a LOT of favorites you want to put on your home screen.

Best wishes!
