You may be able to turn off all notifications for Handcent except for trackball and use Go. Not sure though. I think Go recommends that you get rid of all 3rd party messaging apps.
I would deal without personally because Handcent is starting o sell out to me with adds and paid online features. I get that its free and the the want the money, but Go has those same features for free and worked in much better.

To stop the lag you have to go into go sms pro, hit menu>settings> application> then change running mode to normal or lite mode. I am using normal mode now and the lag is gone bye bye.

Thats what it was. I don't understand when I flash to a newer version of a rom I do not get updates of newer versions of apps.

Updated version does have this. just have to make sure the version is the most current.
