Cool Hopefully this is the right spot, since I have Easytether Pro (Paid) App.

I have installed Easytether Lite at first and it's use was pretty good for a long run. I was able to Skype and browse the web via Google Chrome, and IM program like Trillian Astra, all on my HP laptop while Easytether was active. Was able to download pretty good, though some things were slow as expected compared to the former connection via Centurylink (Until bill is paid off).

I had Easytether Lite since February this year. I ended up getting the paid App since I figured the official would be more of a legit app than just the lite version, which was like a trial so to say.

I started noticing the connection will drop. Comments suggested this would happen, so I was not much in worrying about why. The drops started happening more frequently than usual, to a point I was no longer able to use the tethering. So I ran a little test, took some programs off that was using the net to see if it would work, and sure enough, Skype was dropping the tether connection every time it came on. Which was odd, for I usually was able to Skype, even hole a vid call at a time, and chat on the program without the connection dropping. The drops would occur after a few seconds. When Skype is not on, it works like a charm for the most part...so far...as I am typing this.

The moment I cut on Skype, it drops like a bad habit. Unable to keep Skype on when Easytether is up on the laptop. Plus it is up to date, and I have the App on auto update. If not mistaken I heard another update is coming soon or so.

So I wonder, is there a way to remedy this issue between running Skype and Easytether? Or is this a no go. As of now I am using Skype via droid since I can not Skype on the laptop because of the tether connection dropping when I cut on Skye there. I use Skype mostly for the fact my fiancée' is overseas in Iraq, and I sometimes vid chat with her when she is not on duty and able to talk to me on vid call.

I am using the HTC Droid Eris.

I have Easytether Pro on right now and my net is working fine on the computer as app designed. Just the moment I cut on Skype on the computer itself (Not the Droid App Skype Version) the connection drops and never stays on like it is now.

I have been online since without Skype on the computer, but is using Skype on the droid until I have the net bill paid. So this is temporary, however it never use to drop like that when Skype was on the computer and active. Which I find odd it is doing it.

Must be too much activity, but I am running Google Chrome with 14tabs up, Trillian Astra which is a multi IM program, and IMVU. Watching youtube vids and my usual videos via other sites, and a little downloading on the side, which I usually do a minimum of until I get the legit net back on again so to say.

Ok, ive tried it and it worked with both running and a download going on in the background. I will say that even though it worked. It wasnt smooth or 100% stable.

I did the same test with PDANet and it ran much better. I would say download PDANet (free version) from the market and web and try to see if it works for you. If it does, then skype and easy tether may be having issues running together (maybe older versions of one or both can work together).

If it doesn't it may be a local issue with the laptop, maybe a driver issues or bad install.. Give it a shot..

Hmmm.

So far so good. I had did a big reboot. Waited for awhile, checked for updates and all, did not see a Skype one. So what I did was wait a bit before cutting on Skype after Easytether on the computer and for a day passed it appears to be working fine without those disconnects. I will keep monitoring it and figure it out. So far it could be connection issues or so between the two, but I try not to cut anything on until Easytether runs for awhile on it's own, then log onto Skype on the computer afterward.

Thanks for the advice!
