I am really disappointed with the camera on my Eris. Either I don't know how to take a decent picture or the camera is a piece of junk.  When I press the track ball there is such a delay from the time I press it until the picture is taken.  Is there a better camera out there?  Thanks for any help!    Smiley

The camera is definitely junk. There are some options bu they are not a ton better. Try camera magic from the market, there is less delay in the shutter action but it is still not great.

I just returned from vacation with a friend who used nothing but his IPhone camera.  The pictures were beautiful and I was jealous.  But I usually had service with Verizon and he usually didn't with ATT!

Yea I often ask my iphone friends, what is more important, an app or a phone call? I do wish that the camera (and  some other apps) worked better on the Eris but I have a reliable phone that ALWAYS has service. Anyway, I will definitely look for a better camera on my next phone.

I was getting blurry pics before I changed my resolution from auto to 800 and much better result! my wife changed hers to 400 and she's happy now with the results. Auto vacuums.

I use Camera Pro and have it set to 400 and it does great... Well at least as best as our Eris can be..

I've been using Vignette, recently.  It snaps the photo pretty quickly.  I've been amazed at what it will do!  The app takes a while to process the photo before it will show up in the gallery, but it has a lot of filters and effects that are quite handy.

I recently grabbed Camera 360 Pro from the Market and have been very satidfied with the results. some cool little effects on it as well. May be worth checking out. SO much happier than with the crapola that came with the phone.

I've just started using FXCamera. I get pretty good results and it free for the full version.

Just tried LittlePhoto from the market.   Don't think it would work well as an everyday camera, but I love all the cool effects it has!!!  Worth a look!
