Hello All:

I have a question about saving apps to the SD card on 2.2:

How do you know what apps can be moved to the SD CARD without effecting how the apps work...is there a simple app to download to do this, or do you have to go into the APPLICATIONS SETTING and manually manage each app at a time?

Do not know of any app that does this.  I do it manually for the ones that did not go to sd.  I have almost 99% of apps on sd.  If you find the app is not functioning properly on sd move it back to phones internal memory.

Are all apps able to be moved to the SD or are there some that have to remain on memory?

I think Handcent does not function on SD...so I guess what I am saying is, do we have to view each app and see within there comments if it says it can be moved to SD or is there an easier way to do this rather than going into every app one by one?

There are a few apps that cannot be moved and you will be given notification if they cannot, say ones that are copy-righted.  Handcent is on my sd card and works fine.  Go one by one.

OK, quick question...

I am trying to move some apps and I get the error message:

Failed to move app...there is not enough storage left...

I have over 6gigs left on the SD so that cannot be true...is this the error message you get if the app cannot be moved to the SD card?

Apps that I get this message on:

GoPayment
Barcode Scanner
QuickBoot
Rev3Remote
Shazam
WiiFinder

Yeah gotten that before, just hit ok and then hit move to sd card again.  You might also get failure to move app, hit ok and then hit move to sd card again.

I noticed that when I moved the apps to the SD, the widgets I am using for those apps did not work...

The Weather Channel widget
Gmail Unread widget
Handcent SMS

When i tried to move it back to the phone, the widget did not even show up in the selection of other widget  I can use....so I had to re-download and re-install to get the widgets to work..

Well handcent icon works for me, just tried it.  But I use launcher pro and use the message icon on the dock bar to get to handcent.  Honestly Scott, since rooting, I have very little on my screens, 3 screens to be exact and am only using 2.  One screen has the power controls, other has a clock, emails, dsp, pandora, market, maps and thats it.  I keep everything in app drawer now.  So could not tell you about the other widgets u mention.

Usually if you put the apps back into the phone's memory and re-start the launcher that fixes it.  Yes, the apps that have widgets must be on the phone's memory in order for the widgets to work.
