Its been a few days and I am not sure of the status of your issue but have you tried making some changes in settings>wireless controls>wifi settings>menu>advanced? Of particular interest is the wifi sleep policy.  


***oops, just read this solution in another thread. I guess thats what I get for not keeping up with whats happening.***

wow.. I just found this menu.. I had no idea there was an advance wifi menu! LMAO! and yes, the sleep policy was set to whenever the screen was turned off LOL!

Well, I will be getting a new eris shipped to me tomorrow for free, I guess i will go ahead and activate that one anyways, and send this one back haha.. just because, its new LOL.

i am having a different issue though since I had to hard reset my phone. I'm getting double notifications for messages and handcent, and even with the stock messaging app's notifications disabled :-/ it's weird, it worked just right before i had to reset it...

Got the new eris today, fixed the sleep setting in advanced settings and it works great!!! thanks for that tip!

Also, i noticed the camera on this new Eris is a little bit nicer than my last one... weird... lol But i'm not complaining!
