How do i get into Eris phone to explore phone

How do i get into Eris phone to explore phone. noob here and trying to get updated to 2.2 . also looking to see if i can get better reception on phone.

Cant get .apk file to open on computer and need a good build of froyo

There is no way to really get better rception. if the phone was upgraded to 2.1 either by verizon or with an over the air update, then the phone probably has the newest radio info as well.

Even with rooting, it most likely won't help to get better reception. It will give you tons of exploration options though..

Ok you can try dialing *228 and using option 2 or you can dial *22800 or *22899 and it will have the phone udated automatically to the newest phone tower info...

*228 will ask you to chose option 1 or 2, you can choose 2 only. 1 is for the phone initial setup and connection to verizon to get the phone started when first purchased, if you chose it it will quickly check and confirm your phone is activated, it wont hurt if you chose it but not needed

*22800 & *22899 are the same just different #'s and its all automated you dont have to do anything but wait till its done. about a minute or 2..
