In the next few weeks Verizon is slowly getting ready for lte (4g) so you may see some drop net time and phone calls not connect. It mostly will be done in the early am. *228 opt 2 or *22899 will help update roaming and what not. So don't get mad if you loss phone or net it will be for a short time. Any other information I get I will post if it seems important.

Thank you for the heads up. Having the temper that I have I probably would've destroyed  my phone or something.

After the 4G is up will that make any changes in speed on our Eris'?  Or will it just be specific phones that are 4G capable?

You will see a lil difference, you have to remember 4g is a big change unlike sprint, verizon wants everyone on 4g at once not just select areas. And that will move more people to lte and give room for people on 3g. Hope that makes sense

Verizon upgraded all my USB data units to LTE for free, but they told me no phones on the near future.

And now, I found this

HTC will launch LTE phones in late 2011

I am getting used to the idea that verizon has forgotten those of us with eris phones.  any ups that be coming down the line will pass us by.  our only hope for keeping our phones up to speed is with the help of those  programming developers.  Since rooting I have really started to like my phone again.

I would have had a Droid x in my hand but I fallen in love with my Eris all over again(goes into song ♪me n u,u n me,so haaaaappy tooooogetherr
La dadadada ♪( end of song) Same here, I felt the same way about Verizon ever since I heard the news about the Incredible being the replacement.
