I am also getting the random 'all sounds not working' issue.  There is nothing special about what I am doing, but I will pick up and dial someone or I will answer a call and they cannot hear me and I cannot hear them.  I had it once occur during a call.  It might be something to do with bluetooth, since it usually happens when I have my earpiece turned on.

The only solution is a soft reset.

I don't use a Bluetooth. I think it might be something with the sound perameters.

Voice to text is largely disabled still. You can use it in some areas like search, maps, and a few others. Hopefully we get full integration by the end of the month.

I have a little fix here for those of you experiencing bad battery life. Apparently some battery drain is being attributed to lose of cell signal. You can see if you have this issue by doing this...

Long press on an open 1x1 home screen area|Shortcut|settings|Battery use.

This gives you a real nice battery use widget with a ton of info. ( I don't know how to access this info except through the desk top shortcut)

If you have a label here that says "time without a signal" and it is greater than 0% then you have a problem. You can fix it by...

1. Plug in phone charger

2. Put phone in Airplane mode

3. Put phone to sleep for a minute

4. Turn off airplane mode

5. Unplug phone

You can confirm that this worked by looking at the "time without signal". Mine has been at 0% for hours after doing this.

A couple of screen shots of the shortcut and the battery use screen  Grin

New bug (for me anyways):

Now I may be jumping to conclusion, as this may not be 2.1's fault, however I searched around and found nothing on this.

While texting some friends (I use the default texting app btw) I noticed that my Facebook picture didn't appear in our texting conversations. I went to my contacts (People) and made sure that 'My Contact Card' was linked properly to Facebook. It didn't seem to be, so I pressed 'Me' to view my contact information, however it just kept loading... and loading... and loading. Nothing ever happened. This is aggravating because I can't view my own contact card, which means I can't link it with Facebook.... odd.

Minor problem, but I need somewhere to vent... Grin

My contact card is link to FB with photo and all and I had no problem opening it. I have noticed on occasion that when I send a text there is a delay in the recipients photo showing up in message.

So is it actually a setting that says time without a signal? I see that in my cell standby but not on the list you display here...nad its at 75%.

When I took the screen shot I had already resolved the problem and when something is 0% it will not show on this list. Before I followed these steps I opened the battery use information screen and the very first graph was labeled "time without a signal" (or very similar) and it was at 50%, my screen shot does not reflect that. Maybe someone can give us a screen shot of that category before they fix it?

Not to keep harping on this but in some of the other forums I noticed people speaking about this airplane mode fix and it was based on time without a signal in the "cell battery"
setting. I have tried this 10 times and 9 out of the ten times it never changes from 50%.
Once it went away and when I checked 10 minutes later, it was back to 50%.

Maybe it is nothing at all, or maybe it is draining more battery.
Maybe the official update will fix it.

Thanks for harping on it! I checked a few times yesterday and all was good but I just checked now and I'm back up to 50%, damn. I will search for another fix. Let me know if you come across something.

***Update*** I'm not sure on the origin of this airplane mode fix or how it works but here is what I have. After being back to 50% I turned on airplane mode, plugged in the charger, and then let it sit charging for about 20 minutes. I have been back at 0% for about an hour. I will watch it throughout the day and report back.

So with all this said...I just checked by Battery utility and there are more things listed now.
Went to Cell Standby and time on: 3h 33:m:42s. Nothing else.
And I HAVE noticed in the last 2 hours my battery has only dropped about 3% .
So, I am either losing my mind, or its coincidence, OR , it really does affect Battery somehow........stay tuned
