Installed this ROM and...wow it's great.  I've flashed some other ones in the past and always restored because something or other would not work right.  But so far except for a few apps that I had to reinstall, things have been running great.

hey guys im running my eris on Smash_1.1 which is a stock based, 2.1 firmware rom. I've loved the stability of it, but i need something new and GSB is what i think im looking for, but in the directions to install it, it says to format your sd card, what does that mean?

TK one check out under Rom Links worksheds GingerBread, and yes you have to format your SD Card this means wiping it clean. First make a backup on your PC then you can format it through your pc like you would a flash drive or you can unplug from the pc and go to settings> Storage> Erase SD card... hope this helps

Not sure why it states that.  I did nothing to my sd card, just left it in my phone with everything on it, put GB rom on it and flashed.

Guess Frrr did something different.

The reason you format the sd card is because the file system is slightly different on gingerbread and alot of people have issues when gingerbread reads the android secure folder and sees a different structure then it needs. Which in turn causes everything from simple issues to lockup and boot loops.

You would be amazed how much smoother it runs with a formated sd card. As long as you stay with gingerbread, you only have to format the original time. You can flash over and over with no issues...
