I just rooted my phone with the 1click rooter. I then installed gingerbread on my phone. Now I am missing all sorts of stuff.

When you root, it resets your phone to factory. You should have read up on it more. You will always have to redo your phone after flashing.

did you flash the gapps zip right after you flashed the gingerbread rom (do not reboot in between).

If you didnt, you have to back into recovery and flash the gapps zip. You dont have to reflash the gingerbread rom.

Otherwise if you did, then you should have the rom installed with only its preloaded apps, you have to redownload all your apps and if your contacts were synced to google, they will reappear shortly, if not you have to add all your contacts again

you can also go to http://market.android.com/ and login with your gmail account. all apps that you have downloaded paid and free will be there, just redownload them..

I used the Rom Manager to backup my original stuff before I changed roms. I went back to my save point from that last night. My contacts weren't syncd to google so I did that last night as well.

I would like to run this gingerbread but i'm deffinately a noob when it comes to this stuff. Throw me at a vehicle with a wrench and it's a different story...... Anyways. I would like to run it but how do I get my current stuff over to it. I also noticed that there was no Market App on the GB Rom.

If your contacts are syncd with google. They will come back automatically. If they arent, get an app that will save them and the reinstal.

Gb rom has a market. When you flash, you should save all your info then format your memory card on your pc. Then put back in phone. Then wipe factory data and the davlik cache in recovery (do each one 3 times just to make sure u clear them good.

Now flash the gb rom (dont reboot) then flash the gapps zip(this is the market) - if you want u can also flash the cache2cache zip right after(this will give you more memory on your eris).

Once you flash the files, reboot. If you were on a froyo rom before then your apps should redownload after a few minutes at the most.

There are tutorials on our site under the developement section. Also the links usually go to the developers page that has instructions as well. Each rom maybe slightly different so please read carefully and understand the instructions before flashing..

Just wanted to say thanks for the help Jrocker. I am now on Kaosgingerbread and figuring out how to work it. I converted my apps over with titanium backup and google did the rest. How can I tell if the cache2cache is working because my phone seems to run the same speed as before so far.

look at your memory and see how much you have. usually after a rom and set up its around 80, but with cache2cache it may show 100-120. THIS also depends on how many apps you installed and how large they are...

It really doesnt speed up the phone, it gives you more room for apps which keeps the phone from slowing down due to little memory.

Also now you can flash different roms, if you do make sure you go into recovery and do a complete data & davlik wipe if you go to a different rom. If your updating your current rom, a dvlik wipe is fine unless the dev states otherwise.

A rom you might want to check and makes the eris run great is gingershortbread also known as gsb. its on version 2.2 right now and the eris flies and is like a new phone.

I actually flashed GSB yesterday. It was better than the kaos version in my opinion. I didn't like not having a camera in Kaos, but for some reason the home button wouldn't work on my phone with GSB and I found that frustrating because the only way I could back out of the internet was to go all the way back through what I had surfed.
