Need info For Iphone

I wanted to ask here because I trust your guys & gals opinions & guidance..

Where is there a good site and fairly plain english that can explain step by step how to jailbreak an Iphone.

I have a co-worker that wants to look into this...

What you select depends basically on what computer you use. iPhones must be jailbroken from a computer (to the best of my knowledge).

There are two tools there. One, f0recast, allows you to check if the device can be unlocked and/or jailbroken. The second one, Sn0wbreeze actually jailbreaks the device.

f0recast is really important because it will tell you if the device can be unlocked, if it can be tethered and IF it can be jailbroken. Sometimes, f0recast will notify that you have to downgrade the device, so the process can work.

Remember that Apple IOS is not open source, so the jailbreak requires reverse engineering and does not always work with the latest ROM version. So, sometimes a downgrade is required.

Another interesting solution (not tried by me) seems to be Blackra1n. The tool can be used on both Win and Mac.

I'm not sure if I'm too late on this but jailbreaking is really easy. The only thing that change what you do is what iPhone they have and what iOS they're running. If they are on 4.0.1 or 3.2.1 they can go Jailbreakme.com through Safari on the phone and bam, it's that simple. Now if they are on a newer build it is a little more involved.

Any 4th generation iDevice can be jailbroken via GreenPois0n because of a hardware issue.

there is also LimeRa1n; limera1n is an iPhone 4/iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 4G/iPod touch 3G, and iPad jailbreak tool. It's painfully simple. Just download and press the button.

I used RedSn0w to jailbreak my 2g iPod touch running 4.0.2. It was more intensive because it's a 2g. Anyway. I hope that helps and that I'm not too late to help.
