I've got a Droid Eris and am pretty fed up with the incredibly slow speeds. I've read that rooting it often times will allow for a little bit of speed boost. I am definitely up for trying it - I'm just worried about one thing. I use the Google Voice service (not the voice-to-text thing, the GrandCentral thing) as my main phone number, and really enjoy how the Google VoiceI App works integrated into my phone. If I root my phone, will the Google Voice App still work the same? Will it still autodial from my Google Voice, and do all the other things that make using GV on Android seamless?
Also, what is a good ROM for someone who is just looking for a speed increase. I'm not really interested in anything special, I just need speed.
