Flashed CyanogenMOD 7.0.0 RC2 and everything is working great except I am seeing in the Gallery and Music App, my pics and MP3 are showing up twice.

I've scanned the SD card to make sure it wasn't picking up a backup directory somewhere (which it isn't).  So it must somehow be doing a media scan discovering the files twice.

Anyone else seeing this problem?

Not sure about music app as I only use pandora.  For the gallery I do not have the duplicate issue you mentioned.

OK well i'm still not clear on why it happened.  But it must have something to do with my restoring my pics and music from a backup.

I removed the pics and music from the SD, did a media scan to clear its DB (assuming they are tracking then in some DB) and added them back onto the SD and did another scan.  Now there is only one of everything again.

Yeah sounds like that is what happened.  Great info you posted which may help others.

Kept getting this problem...and got tired of going through the process that I went through above.  So I did some more searching.  Here is a much less painful solution...

1.Open Settings » Applications » Manage Applications
2.Press 'Menu' and then 'Filter' and select 'All'
3.Scroll to the Media Storage app, tap it and press 'Clear Data'
4.From the launcher, open the Dev Tools app and use the 'Media Scanner' option
5.Once media scanner is done, your new and old files should all be indexed.
