Can Verizon tell a phone is rooted if they do troubleshooting over the phone? I am having scrolling left issues and the Verizon rep wants to "check to see if it is a software issue". Should I unroot before we do the troubleshooting? I have to call her back when I get access to another phone.

They Can't see it over the phone. The only thing that might hurt is the menu is a lil different.

Right. As they will be trying to "guide" ( Tongue) you trough the menus, options, etc. they will be asking you to press this and press that, and of course, since you don't have sense, you have to pretend everything is there or they may figure it out (well, if you get a rep smart enough).

Most of the time they are just following a script, so if you are not too obvious, they may not notice.  Wink

LOL yeah when I was talking to her I sounded like a complete moron. I was saying things like "the ball thingie at the bottom of the phone" and the "screen where all my apps are" LOL!  Cool

Ha, I think I'm gunna go the other way. My trackball doesn't go down or left anymore and if they try to convince me it's a software issue I'll wet rag and say "I probably know more about this phone than you do, I'm under warranty, and I have had it for 10 months and kept perfect care of it. Give me a new one."

Smiley haha

Really? So I'd trade it in for one with just a new trackball?

They will send you a "like new" refurbished phone, or they will replace it with a different model.

This will be my second replacement, one more and I get a different model no matter what!

Don't bother. They won't give you one in the store, they will make you send it in anyway, so if I were you I would just call or do it online.

Damn, I may just buy a new track ball and replace it on my own. Less work, less worry, less time with an inoperable phone.

Haha true, but it can be unrooted.

If his device decides to take a dump, even putting the old track ball back in will not save him because the void sticker would have been tampered with.
